BIBLE TEXT: EPHESIANS 4:7-16
INTRODUCTION
The happenings in the world today conform with the prophecies in the scriptures regarding the things that must be before the coming of our Lord and Saviour. (Matt. 24:33-36). Our focus in our study is not to dwell much on the happenings but on what is required of us as believers. The scriptures spell out what we need to do in advancing the kingdom of God here on earth while we wait for the return of the Lord.
Joel 2:28-32 – The outpouring of the Spirit in the last days is for specific assignments to contribute to building the body of Christ.
IDENTIFYING OUR PLACE IN THE END-TIME AGENDA OF GOD
1. The body of Christ has many members thus; you must locate your part of the body and abide by it. (Eph. 4:7-13, 1 Corinthians 12:1-31, Joel 2:1-2,7-11)
i. Locate your part and stay there, it may not look popular but has a reward.
ii. Your part is needed in building the body of Christ.
iii. No part is more important than the other
2. God gives purpose, but it is our responsibility to discover it and give ourselves to the demands for its fulfilment. (Prov. 25:2, Luke 4:14-21)
3. Your gift and calling are ordained to make room for you. (Prov. 18:16)
4. God is not a man to forget your work and labour of love. (Heb. 6:10, 2 Chron. 15:7)
ACTION PLANS
A. Be strong and of good courage. (Joshua 1:9)
B. Maintain focus. (Heb. 12:2, 1 Cor. 15:58)
C. Avoid distractions. (Matt 10:11-23, Matt. 6:24-34)
