BUILDING TO LAST (BIBLE STUDY) GUIDELINES
THEME: UNDERSTANDING THE TIMES AND SEASONS (1 CHRONICLE 12:32)
TOPIC: BUILDING SPIRITUAL STAMINA AGAINST THE DECEPTIONS OF THE DEVIL
BIBLE TEXT: EPHESIANS 6:10-19
INTRODUCTION
In the world we live in today, there are so many attacks being launched at the saints of God, in order to weaken and destabilize them from focusing on the important things that pertain to the things of life and godliness. Luke 22:31-32 AMP. “Simon, Simon (Peter), listen! Satan has demanded permission to sift [all of] you like grain; but I have prayed [especially] for you [Peter], that your faith [and confidence in Me] may not fail; and you, once you have turned back again [to Me], strengthen and support your brothers [in the faith].” The main purpose of the attack of the devil is to hinder the spread of the gospel through the saints of God. Neh. 4:11.
Our focus in today’s Bible study is to be aware of the ongoing battle against the saints of God, so as not to be ignorant of the enemy’s devices to hinder the spread of the gospel, and the need to consistently build our spiritual stamina against the wiles of the devil in these last days.
PLEASE TAKE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
- Evil men and deceivers shall be on the high rise. The main stronghold of the enemy in these last days is DECEPTION. (2Timo. 3:1&13, Matt. 24:4-5,11,24)
- Right from the day satan and his angels were cast out of heaven, he has been on a speedy rampage in the earth knowing that he has but a short time. (Rev. 12:7-10,12, 1 John 2:18-19)
- The devil is not a physical being but a spirit that works through systems and those that yielded themselves to be used by him. (Matt. 4:1-3,5-6,8-9 James 3:14-16, 2 Cor. 10:3-5)
- The Good News is that; ‘the darker the darkness, the brighter the light.’ We’re here as light bearers. (Matt. 5:14-16, John 1:5,9, Rom. 1:16, Matt. 24:14)
HOW TO BUILD SPIRITUAL STAMINA
A) Wisdom and knowledge bring stability (Isaiah 33:6) Wisdom is the principal thing. How then do we increase in wisdom?
- By studying the word of God (John 1:1-3, Luke 1:80, 2:40)
- Putting the word of God to work. (James 1:22-25, Matt. 7:24-27)
- Walking with the wise. (Eccl. 10:15, Prov. 13:20, 27:17)
- Total submission to God. (James 4:7-10)
B) Engaging the mysteries of the kingdom to overcome the enemy of our soul. (Luke 8:10, Rev. 12:11)
C) Putting on the whole armour of God. (Eph. 6:10-19)
CONCLUSION
Proverb 24:10 says “If you faint in the day of adversity, Your strength is small.” There are days of adversity, hatred, wars, betrayals, afflictions, pestilences, famine, and the likes ahead of the world as prophesied by Jesus Christ in Matthew chapter 24 verses 6 to 10, it is now therefore, our responsibility as children of light equipped with the spiritual understanding of the times and seasons to build spiritual stamina so as to withstand the wiles of the devil in these last days and stand for Jesus in this crooked and perverse generation.
