THEME: TOWARDS THE HARVEST OF SOULS INTO GOD’S KINGDOM 

TOPIC:  BEING FIT FOR EFFECTIVE SOUL-WINNING

BIBLE REFERENCE: Ps. 15:1-5, Exodus 18:21-23

INTRODUCTION

As we see the days of the Lord’s return approaching, we are admonished to reach out to more souls with love and good works. We must understand that certain things must be in place for us to be suitable and qualified for effective soul-winning into God’s kingdom. Holiness, righteousness and the fear of the Lord being the foundation of our relationship with the Lord is ever sure, (2 Timo. 2:19-22)

The vital requirements for leadership as outlined in Exodus 18:21, viz: The fear of the Lord, men of truth, hating covetousness shall be the background for this study. We shall be considering the things to do for us to fit into the above-named basic requirements.

REQUIREMENTS FOR EFFECTIVE SOUL-WINNING ENGAGEMENTS

1. 1. Have a right standing with God:  Living a life of holiness and righteousness is a must requirement to be effective in winning souls into God’s kingdom. (Job as a case study) Job 1: 1, 29:4,5,14. To be enlisted as an effective soul winner, you must be upright in your heart, living in the fear of the Lord, doing away from things that defile, being upright in the heart, having a distaste for evil, and being perfect before God. “Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the Lord.” Isaiah 52:11

2. 2. Be positioned as an attraction of souls into God’s kingdom: Being a carrier of God’s presence will make you become a spiritual magnet drawing souls into God’s kingdom. The Holy Ghost at work in you is the power from on High that enables you to do great exploits for the Lord through bringing souls that will be established in His kingdom. Zech. 8:23, Acts 10:38.

3. 3. Be a living Sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God: To be an effective soul winner, Your very life must be the first act of service unto God. (Rom. 12:1-2) It would help if you did not allow the world to influence you with their way of life. Stand out as a shining light against every work of darkness. To be a living sacrifice, you must not allow your heart to be defiled. You have to keep renewing your mind in order to be fit and effective in reaping for the master. To keep your heart from defilement, you must keep focus on the things that build up and not on things that pull down. Philip 4:8-9

In conclusion, in as much as you desire to be used by God in these last days for the ingathering of souls into His kingdom, your walk with the Lord is of great importance. Holiness is a non-negotiable requirement in becoming an effective tool for a great harvest in these last days. You must ensure that you have no property of the devil in your custody.
